Ms. Poultney teaches United States History I & II, Government, and Economics at Unity Center for Urban Technologies in New York, NY.

...and now a word from Ms. Poultney...

My purpose is to prepare my students for the challenges and opportunities that they will encounter as they become adults. I believe that with every freedom and advantage that we are given comes great responsibility (Where have you heard this before?). It is vital that my students master the reading, writing, and thinking skills that will empower them to make positive changes in their school, community, city, state, country, and world.

Ms. Poultney is a permanently certified social studies teacher in New York State. She entered teaching as a New York City Teaching Fellow in 2003. She recently completed the National Council on Economic Education's Institute of Capital Formation and has received training in arts education in the content areas at the Lincoln Center Institute. She a member of the National Council for the Social Studies and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
